We have great delight in inviting ALL RESIDENTS to our Grand Union Place Summer Picnic on 6th July. A great day is guaranteed. Bring a dish to share.

Monday 10 June 2013

Here's a message from East Thames about new controls over items left in communal areas ...

"Dear residents,

East Thames is taking action to ensure the communal areas of our blocks and properties are kept clear of personal items. Leaving personal items – such as pushchairs, pot plants, shoes, bikes, furniture or rubbish – in the communal areas and intake cupboards presents a serious risk to health and safety, both as fire risk and as a trip hazard. East Thames have recently placed notices in the communal areas advising residents about personal items left in the communal areas.

For this reason, any items left stored in the communal areas will be removed without notice. We will store your items for a maximum of 28 days and if you don’t claim it within this time we will dispose of it.

If we incur charges for removing and /or storing items, we will re-charge these costs back to the individual resident. We will also be charging an administration fee for any goods you wish to recover from us.

Please can residents remove any belongings you may have in a communal area (under staircases, outside your front door/landings) or any items stored in the landlords intake cupboard (electric meter cupboard/water riser cupboards).

Under the terms of your tenancy/lease agreement it is not permitted to store any items in the communal areas of the building due to Health and Safety and Fire Regulations, these areas must be kept clear at ALL times. We have bike storage facilities in the underground car park available to all residents living here.

Under the new Disposal of Goods Policy East Thames no longer will be placing warning notices on your items, instead the items will be removed without any notice.

These measures have been taken to safeguard our buildings from fire risks.

By co-operating with East Thames  you will be contributing to making your block a pleasant and safe environment for yourself and your children to live in."
On Wednesday 12 June, representatives from all the landlords and suppliers responsible for making Grand Union Place work will be attending the residents association meeting to answer your questions and field your concerns.

If you've got "a bone to pick" with them, make sure you come along or send an email to one of the committee members.

A big thanks to everyone who came along and planted summer flowers around the memorial on 1 June.

It really looks very cheerful and will make the Summer Picnic extra-special.

This is being held on 6 July. Check the blog and notice boards for details.

Lift Update 91-141 Mercer Court

East Thames apologies for any inconvenience caused to residents as a result of the lift breaking down during the Christmas Holidays. We instructed Stannah (Lift Engineers) to attend on 03/01/2013 to resolve the fault with the lift. Unfortunately the lift could not be repaired on this visit.

Stannah have informed East Thames that they intend to visit on 07/01/2013. Stannah will be using specialist equipment to release the lift cart which is currently stuck, they will also be installing a new safety pawl device as mentioned previously in our updates.

We hope that the lift can be operational for resident use once Stannah have repaired the identified faults.  Once again, we apologise for the delay in resolving this matter.

If you would like an update please contact your Neighbourhood Manager on 020 8522 3275.
